GB Women’s Training Camp Report
Kalmar & Öland, Sweden | 22–24 May 2026
The GB Women’s squad held a highly productive three-day training camp in Kalmar and Öland, combining structured on-court sessions with a competitive international friendly fixture. The camp utilised SBB Arena in Kalmar and Ölands Bankcenter A in Färjestaden, providing excellent facilities for both training and match play.
This camp featured a young GB squad, including three debutantes, highlighting the programme’s continued emphasis on development and building for the future.
A key highlight of the camp was the Saturday afternoon fixture against FBC Karlskrona a strong Swedish Division 1 side.
GB produced an impressive and controlled performance, securing a deserved 7–3 victory. Against good-quality opposition, this result provided a valuable benchmark and demonstrated clear progression in team performance.
The team was led by coaches Viktor Sheffield, Stefan Andersson, and Severin Knecht, who could be satisfied with their weekend’s work.
The camp provided a strong platform to integrate younger players, assess combinations, and continue building cohesion within the squad.
The Kalmar & Öland training camp was a successful and valuable exercise for the GB Women’s programme. With high-quality facilities, a structured training schedule, and a strong performance in the international friendly, the weekend delivered both technical progress and growing confidence moving forward.
