The AGM will cover key updates on the 2025-26 season from UKFF’s Central Committee, as well as some projects and plans going forward into 2026-27. Everyone is welcome to join the meeting. Attendees will have the chance to vote in Central Committee role elections (maximum one vote per club). You can also ask any questions, volunteer for a working group or suggest any ideas.

UK Floorball Federation Central Committee Roles
The UK Floorball Federation (UKFF) Central Committee is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and enabling the growth and delivery of floorball across the UK. The Central Committee provides leadership, oversight and operational guidance across development, competitions, national teams, finance, communications and compliance. Members act as ambassadors for the sport, working collaboratively with clubs, volunteers, partners and international bodies to deliver safe, sustainable, exciting and inclusive floorball opportunities nationwide.
President
Purpose: Lead the Central Committee, represent UKFF externally, and ensure the organisation delivers on its strategic aims.
Key responsibilities
- Leadership of Central Committee: Chair monthly committee meetings; set agendas in collaboration with the General Secretary; ensure decisions are implemented and reviewed.
- Strategic planning & execution: Lead development and delivery of a long-term strategic plan; monitor progress against objectives and KPIs.
- Governance creation and maintenance: Ensure governance framework is fit for purpose (constitution, policies, codes of conduct); oversee board recruitment and induction.
- International representation and IFF liaison: Act as primary contact with the International Floorball Federation (IFF); represent UKFF at international meetings and competitions.
- Sports councils liaison: Maintain relationships with Sport England, UK Sport and other funding or regulatory bodies; lead funding and recognition applications.
- Financial oversight and legal compliance: Work with Finance Director and General Secretary to ensure financial probity, Companies House filings, insurance and statutory compliance.
Finance Director
Purpose: Ensure the financial health of UKFF through budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controls.
Key responsibilities
- Budgeting & forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and plan towards multi‑year financial forecasts.
- Financial management: Oversee bookkeeping, bank accounts, payments, and cash flow management; ensure timely tax compliance in collaboration with the General Secretary.
- Reporting & audit: Collaborate with Central Committee members to produce an annual financial report; coordinate external auditors or accountants.
- Risk & controls: Develop and maintain financial policies (procurement, expense claims); implement internal controls and fraud prevention measures.
- Funding strategy: Work with President and Head of Development to identify income streams (grants, sponsorship, membership fees) and manage grant compliance.
- Support to committees: Provide financial guidance to project leads.
General Secretary
Purpose: Maintain statutory compliance, manage governance processes and ensure effective administration of the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Compliance & statutory filings: Ensure Companies House and other statutory filings are completed on time.
- Policies & procedures: Maintain and update governance documents, policies (safeguarding, equality, data protection) and the constitution.
- Meeting administration: Prepare agendas, minutes and action logs for Central Committee and AGM; maintain records of decisions and resolutions.
- Membership administration: Oversee membership records, renewals and communications related to governance matters.
- IT support: Collaborate with Central Committee members to maintain digital resources and platforms such as shared file systems and the website.
- Board support: Support board recruitment and induction.
Head of Development
Purpose: Drive participation growth, club development, coach and referee education, and long‑term player pathway development.
Key responsibilities
- Development planning: Align development plans to UKFF’s strategic plan, with targets for participation, club growth and retention.
- Programme delivery: Lead working groups to oversee adult recreational initiatives, school engagement, youth programmes, women’s opportunities and community outreach.
- Coach and official development: Develop pathways and networks for coach and referee training; ensure safeguarding and welfare training is embedded.
- IFF Fit 4 Future/NGB recognition/funding programmes: Coordinate UKFF’s Fit 4 Future development plan; work towards objectives for Sport England/Sport Scotland/UK Sport recognition; prepare funding bids and manage grant reporting.
- Partnerships: Build relationships with local authorities, schools, universities and community organisations to expand floorball opportunities and engage with existing groups in unihockey and hockey-hybrid sports.
- Monitoring & evaluation: Track participation metrics and report progress to the Central Committee.
Communications Director
Purpose: Manage UKFF’s public profile, digital presence and stakeholder communications to grow awareness and engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Website & digital channels: Maintain and update the website; ensure content is current, accessible and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Social media & PR: Develop a content calendar; manage social channels; handle media enquiries and press releases.
- Content planning: Support production of regular newsletters, match reports, feature stories and promotional materials.
- Brand & messaging: Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all communications; develop templates and toolkits for leagues and clubs.
- Stakeholder communications: Coordinate communications with members, partners, sponsors and external stakeholders.
- Crisis communications: Prepare and execute communications plans for incidents or reputational issues.
EFL, SFL, UFL League Directors
Purpose: Oversee the operation, governance and development of their respective leagues to ensure competitive, safe and well‑run competitions.
Key responsibilities
- League governance: Develop and maintain league rules, competition regulations and disciplinary procedures.
- Fixture & competition management: Oversee scheduling, venues, match officials and results reporting.
- Event management: Lead working group to run league events.
- Club liaison: Act as the primary contact for clubs in the league; support club development and compliance.
- Refereeing & standards: Work with Head of Development to ensure referee training and standards.
- Promotion & growth: Drive recruitment of new clubs and teams; support marketing and spectator engagement; develop new competitions and/or events.
- Reporting: Provide regular operational reports to the Central Committee.
Please Note: League Director Roles are not for election; however, we welcome anyone interested in joining a league organising form to express their interest via the form.
National Teams Director
Purpose: Lead the planning, preparation and delivery of national team programmes and international competition participation.
Key responsibilities
- Team oversight: Manage senior and development national teams (men’s, women’s, U19 teams); appoint coaches and support staff.
- Competitions liaison: Coordinate entries, compliance and logistics for IFF competitions and international fixtures; manage financial requirements of each national team.
- Selection & pathways: Define selection policies, talent ID processes and athlete support structures.
- Event planning: Oversee training camps, travel, accommodation and competition budgets.
- Welfare & safeguarding: Ensure athlete welfare, anti‑doping compliance and safeguarding policies are followed.
- Performance reporting: Report on team performance, budgets and development plans to the Central Committee.
Potential roles for the future
Youth Director
To support the Youth floorball programmes currently in existence, and work with the Head of Development to drive growth in children’s floorball in the UK.
Women’s Opportunities Director
To develop and grow the opportunities available for female-identifying players in the UK, and represent the voice of this community. The IFF Floorball Fit 4 Future programme has specific guidance on the development of the sport in this area, so this role will work closely with the Head of Development.
Safeguarding Lead
To ensure UKFF’s legal and sustainable commitment to safeguarding.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead
To drive EDI strategy and monitor and promote inclusive practice in the sport.
